I am delighted to report a strong set of Post 16 results across our secondary schools.

In summary, we have seen an improved average attainment grade for cohorts at Kettering Science Academy, Thomas Clarkson Academy, Corby Business Aacademy and Corby Technical School. Brooke Weston Academy, which was already strong, has held steady.  There is clearly an upward trajectory from 2019, including the two Covid years, where we acted with full integrity and did not game the system.

All but two of our Yr 13’s who applied have a university destination secured; and one of those has done much better than he thought and is looking to upgrade.

Andy Burns has written the following statement for the Trust website www.brookewestontrust.org and you can find details of individual student successes on the schools’ own sites.

”We are delighted with the performance of our Year 13 students across the Trust.  We are so impressed with how this cohort of students has navigated the most demanding and turbulent two years of study.  The resilience, commitment, and flexibility that they have shown is exceptional.  These are qualities of which every student and their parents should be proud.

The hard work of all our staff and students as we have worked together to prepare the cohort for this set of public examinations, has been nothing short of remarkable.

Individually we have so many personal triumphs to celebrate that we cannot mention all by name.  It is also important to recognise that this year, more so than ever, there is a very important and very personal story behind each set of grades.

The vast majority of our students have achieved the grades they need to unlock the next chapter of their lives, for most that is a university pathway, for others Higher Level Apprenticeships and the world of work.  This year students are travelling further afield to universities, a number to Oxbridge and many to Russell group universities.

For all our students we urge you to reflect on your journey and view your achievements with great pride.”
