From its launch on 6 April, the Food4Heroes scheme for Kettering General Hospital and other care centres delivered over 17,000 meals for hard-pressed NHS and care workers.
Kate Toller, from Sudborough, and Wendy de Capell Brooke set the scheme up after seeing similar efforts working across the country and wanted to do the same for their local hospital. They worked together with The Old White Hart at Lyddington, Route 1 Express and many other businesses and individuals to make the scheme a true success.
The team served over 17,000 meals to staff at Kettering General Hospital and Corby Community Nurse Centre during the Coronavirus pandemic. The widespread success of the scheme wouldn’t have been possible without the donations from the community for the cause, totalling over £56,000!
